Collaborating with the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (LKYCIC) at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), CIO Academy Asia (CIOAA) conducted its Second Annual Survey to understand what senior technology executives in the Southeast Asian region considered were the key trends and challenges that they would face in the next two years.
Based on the survey findings, this Southeast Asia Tech Trends and Priority for 2020 Report focuses on best practices that are critical for organisations today:
- Digital transformation and its key drivers: customer centricity, the accelerated importance of emerging technologies such as data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and the need for a better partnership ecosystem. Undergirding this transformation is the organisation’s talent pool, with the requisite training and upskilling to guide this transformative and innovation journey.
- Cybersecurity in terms of cyber resilience and fostering a culture of cyber hygiene.
On 7 April 2020, CIOAA conducted a virtual roundtable in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis. The roundtable was attended by 10 C-level technology industry leaders across various sectors from Singapore and they discussed the findings of CIOAA’s Southeast Asia technology trends and priorities survey. For CIOAA, the roundtable provided an opportunity to get detailed feedback on the survey which was conducted before the COVID-19 crisis.
Overall, the feedback from the IT community showed that, in line with the findings from CIOAA’s survey, cyber resilience, adaptability, upskilling, innovation and customer centricity remain critical in the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis that we all face.
